about ME
“I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I was an extremely shy-child. I spent the days of my childhood lost in books, exploring in movies, drawing on the floors of my bedroom, and running in the field of my childhood home. Unknowingly, I was always cultivating my artistry at an early age, but, if you would asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I’d have told you a general surgeon.
I grew up surrounded by storytellers. I was raised in the church. My great-uncle has his own church, my grandmother and her siblings were gospel singers, and my family involved in the ministry however necessary. I had not yet found my relationship with God, so church was a space and moment in time where I could watch others shares their gifts, and I always watched in amazement. When we weren’t in church, the family would gather and talk about the good ole’ days. Theater surrounded me. Stages were set in living rooms, scenes happened at dinning room tables, and kitchens became confessionals.

My eighth grade science teacher suggested that I join my schools’ Speech and Debate team. I wanted to try something new and figured this would be a fun space to explore my creativity. Competitive acting offered me an opportunity develop my talents with an intense focus on the storytelling and communication of experience. Through Speech and Debate, I discovered a love for performing.
During my senior year of high school, I participated in the Professional Training Institute for young actors with Milwaukee Repertory Theater. My time in P.T.I. solidified my interests in Acting as a career, but I knew I needed to train in a theatre program to further develop my skills.
career on the horizon: What am I up to?
I spent four years training at Howard University under the tillage of Kim James Bey, Eric Ruffin, Ka’ramuu Kush, Nicole Brewer, Eva Wilhelm, and many others. I have developed a deepened understanding of the craft and a heightened awareness of the necessity of specificity while working, psychophysical creation, and deep emotional exploration. Early in my undergraduate career, I mentioned that “I want[ed] to learn how to act without walls”- I’ve learned that and then some.
I am currently exploring my artistry in various American markets as an early working-professional, setting the foundation to a life-long commitment to do the work that fills my heart with joy, second to my faith with God and love of family and friends.
